Vivo Y6 5G Debuts with Massive 7200mAh Battery, IP69 Rating, and 50MP Camera

Vivo has officially introduced the Vivo Y6 5G, expanding its Y6 lineup with a more feature-packed option. The new device follows the earlier Vivo Y6t but brings notable upgrades in battery, camera, and durability, while keeping the same processor.

Familiar Chipset with Solid Memory Options

The Vivo Y6 5G runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. This chipset clocks at 2.2GHz and delivers basic 5G performance for daily tasks.

The phone supports up to 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. As a result, users can expect faster app loading and smoother multitasking compared to typical budget devices.

Display Gets Brighter and Smoother

Vivo has upgraded the display brightness to 1200 nits on this model. The device features a 6.75-inch IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole design.

It offers a 720p resolution along with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smoother scrolling. Additionally, the front camera is improved to 8MP, replacing the 5MP sensor found on the Y6t.

Improved Camera Setup

On the back, the Vivo Y6 5G now includes a 50MP main camera. This is paired with a secondary auxiliary lens for added functionality.

The camera module also houses an LED flash and a notification light. Overall, the camera upgrade makes it more capable for everyday photography.

Massive Battery with Fast Charging

One of the biggest highlights is the large 7200mAh battery. This capacity can easily last a full day or more on regular use.

The phone also supports 44W fast charging, helping users recharge quickly despite the large battery size.

Durability and Extra Features

Vivo has focused on durability with this model. The phone comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering strong resistance against water and dust.

It also survives drops from up to 1.7 meters, making it more rugged than many competitors. Additional features include dual speakers with up to 400% volume, NFC support, and an infrared remote.

Software and Security

The Vivo Y6 5G ships with Android 16, layered with OriginOS 6.

For security, the fingerprint scanner is placed on the side-mounted power button. Vivo claims the device will maintain smooth performance for up to 50 months.

Price and Availability

The Vivo Y6 5G is currently launched in China with a starting price of CNY 1,799, which is roughly PKR 73,000 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.

More markets are expected to follow soon, although Vivo has not yet confirmed a global release date.
