Vivo X500 Lineup Confirmed Through IMEI Database
Vivo is reportedly preparing its next-generation flagship smartphones earlier than expected. The upcoming Vivo X500 lineup has now appeared in the GSMA IMEI database, confirming that multiple devices are currently in development.
The listing reveals three smartphones in the series, including the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500e. While the database does not provide hardware specifications or official model numbers, it confirms Vivo’s work on the upcoming lineup.
Vivo May Skip the X400 Branding
Interestingly, Vivo appears ready to skip the “X400” naming entirely. Chinese smartphone brands often avoid the number four because of tetraphobia, a cultural belief linked to the pronunciation of the number, which sounds similar to the word for “death” in several Asian languages.
The company previously launched the Vivo X300 family in October last year, and current reports suggest the X500 series could follow a similar release timeline.
Rumored Display Sizes and Design
Although official specifications remain unknown, early leaks have already hinted at some key features. Reports suggest the standard Vivo X500 may arrive with a 6.4-inch display, targeting users who prefer smaller premium phones.
Meanwhile, the Vivo X500 Pro is expected to feature a much larger 6.9-inch screen. Both devices are rumored to use LTPO AMOLED panels with adaptive refresh rate technology for smoother visuals and improved battery efficiency.
Major Camera Upgrades Expected
Camera performance could become one of the biggest upgrades in the upcoming lineup. According to leaks, Vivo is currently testing a new 50MP LOFIC main sensor designed to improve hardware-level HDR photography.
The phones are also rumored to feature a powerful 200MP periscope telephoto camera, which could significantly enhance zoom photography and long-range image quality.
Bigger Batteries Could Be Coming
Battery capacity may also see a major boost this year. Rumors claim that both the Vivo X500 and Vivo X500 Pro could include batteries larger than 7,000mAh.
If true, the devices could offer some of the biggest battery capacities currently available in the flagship smartphone market.
More Details Expected Soon
At this stage, Vivo has not officially announced the X500 series or confirmed any specifications. However, the IMEI listing strongly suggests that the launch preparation process is already underway.
More leaks, certifications, and official teasers are expected to appear over the coming months as the company moves closer to unveiling its next flagship smartphones.
