Stable One UI 8.5 Rollout Officially Begins
Samsung has officially started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series. After months of beta testing, the latest firmware is now reaching users in South Korea. The global rollout is expected to begin within the next two weeks.
Flagship Galaxy Devices Get Priority
The company is focusing on flagship devices during the first phase of the update cycle. Along with the Galaxy S25 and S24 lineup, Samsung is also preparing One UI 8.5 for Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones.
Samsung’s premium tablets, including the Galaxy Tab S10 and Galaxy Tab S11 series, are also expected to receive the new software update soon.
Galaxy A Series Left Out for Now
Samsung has not included the Galaxy A series in the initial rollout list. Mid-range devices may receive the One UI 8.5 update later as the company gradually expands availability to more smartphones and regions.
The latest update cycle mainly targets Samsung’s high-end 5G devices at this stage.
Samsung Shares Update Details Through Newsroom
The company confirmed the rollout through its official Newsroom announcement. Although Samsung did not publish a detailed changelog, beta users are already familiar with many of the upcoming improvements and optimizations.
Samsung also revealed a list of eligible Galaxy devices selected for the May software update cycle.
How to Check for the One UI 8.5 Update
Users can manually search for the update through the Settings app. Open the Software Update menu and tap on “Check for Updates” to connect with Samsung’s servers.
If the OTA package is available for your device, the option to download and install One UI 8.5 will appear on the same screen.
More Galaxy Devices Expected Soon
Samsung is expected to continue expanding the One UI 8.5 rollout over the coming weeks. More Galaxy smartphones and tablets are likely to join the update list as the company moves forward with its global release plans.
