Apple has officially entered the foldable phone market with the iPhone Duo, its first-ever foldable iPhone. The device combines a 5.4-inch cover display with a much larger 7.6-inch folding OLED, while bringing back Touch ID and introducing Apple’s new A20 Pro chipset.
The iPhone Duo also arrives with iOS 27, a titanium hinge, MagSafe and Qi2 charging, plus a dual-camera setup featuring 48MP sensors. Apple is positioning the device as a premium flagship rather than simply a larger iPhone, with storage reaching up to 2TB and a starting price of $1,999.
Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Takes Shape
The iPhone Duo marks a major change in Apple’s smartphone lineup. Instead of using a conventional slab design, the device folds inward around a large internal display while maintaining a smaller screen on the outside for everyday tasks.
Both displays use Apple’s Super Retina ProMotion XDR OLED technology and support a 120Hz refresh rate. Apple has also matched their aspect ratio and brightness characteristics, giving the two screens a more consistent visual experience.
