Vivo V80 Details Leak 7,200mAh Battery, AI Camera Tools and Android 17

Vivo V80 Details Leak 7,200mAh Battery, AI Camera Tools and Android 17

The Vivo V80 is shaping up to be a substantial upgrade over the V70, with a new leak pointing to a much larger battery and several camera-focused features. The phone is reportedly scheduled to launch in India during the first week of October.

Alongside the 7,200mAh battery, Vivo is said to introduce more than 30 AI effects through an AI Creative Camera mode. The upcoming phone could also bring Live Sticker Collage, while software is expected to include Android 17 with Vivo’s next-generation OriginOS 7 interface.

Vivo V80 Release Timeline

According to the latest information, Vivo is preparing to launch the V80 in India during the first week of October. The timing would put the phone only a short distance behind the recently introduced V80 Lite.

The V80 is expected to sit above the V80 Lite in Vivo’s lineup and serve as the direct successor to the Vivo V70, making its specifications particularly important for buyers looking at Vivo’s premium V-series phones.

There is currently no confirmed global or Pakistan launch date. The October timeline should therefore be treated as leaked information until Vivo makes an official announcement.

A Much Bigger 7,200mAh Battery

One of the biggest changes could be hidden inside the phone. The Vivo V80 is reportedly getting a 7,200mAh battery, which would be a significant increase over the 6,500mAh cell found in the V70.

That represents roughly a 10.8% increase in battery capacity, giving the V80 considerably more capacity on paper. The larger cell could be particularly useful for users who spend long periods on mobile data, cameras, gaming and video streaming.

However, battery capacity alone does not determine real-world endurance. Display resolution, chipset efficiency, refresh rate and Vivo’s software optimization will also influence how long the phone lasts between charges.

AI Creative Camera Could Be a Major Feature

The camera experience is also getting an AI-focused upgrade. The V80 is said to include an AI Creative Camera mode with more than 30 AI effects.

The idea appears similar to the creative camera tools available on Vivo’s newer phones. The Vivo X300 FE, for example, reportedly shipped with 25 different styles, suggesting Vivo is expanding this type of feature across its smartphone lineup.

Rather than simply improving image processing, these tools are designed to give users additional ways to transform and customize their photos directly from the phone.

Live Sticker Collage

Another reported addition is Live Sticker Collage. The feature is expected to let users combine Live Photos with stickers to create customized collages.

It sounds more like a social-media-focused camera feature than a traditional photography upgrade, but it could make the V80’s camera software more interesting for younger users and people who frequently share photos.

Android 17 and OriginOS 7

The software could be another major selling point. The Vivo V80 is reportedly expected to launch with Android 17 out of the box, paired with Vivo’s upcoming OriginOS 7 interface.

Vivo is scheduled to unveil OriginOS 7 on September 16, giving the company an opportunity to showcase the software shortly before the rumored V80 launch window.

Launching with Android 17 would also give the V80 a newer software foundation compared with older V-series models.

Vivo V80 vs Vivo V70

The reported battery upgrade is already one of the clearest differences between the two generations.

The V70 launched with a 6,500mAh battery, while the V80 is rumored to increase that figure to 7,200mAh. The camera software is also expected to become more heavily focused on AI-generated effects and creative editing.

Other hardware specifications, including the chipset, display, camera sensors, charging technology and memory configurations, have not yet been revealed in the information currently available.

What to Expect From the Vivo V80

The V80 is still some distance from an official unveiling, so several important specifications remain unknown. The processor and camera sensors will be particularly important in determining how much of an upgrade this phone represents over the V70.

The rumored 7,200mAh battery, however, immediately gives the upcoming model a strong endurance-focused angle. Combined with Android 17, OriginOS 7 and expanded AI camera tools, Vivo appears to be preparing a phone that puts equal emphasis on battery life and software features.

For now, the biggest question is whether Vivo will pair that huge battery with equally competitive charging speeds and camera hardware. Those details could ultimately determine how compelling the V80 becomes.
