Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, has surfaced in a new leak that reveals major camera upgrades. According to information shared by a Chinese tipster, the device could feature two powerful 200MP cameras, marking a significant jump from its predecessor.
200MP Main Camera Reportedly Included
The latest rumor suggests that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be equipped with a 200MP primary camera. The sensor is said to be a new-generation LOFIC unit with a large 1/1.28-inch size, which could help improve image quality, dynamic range, and low-light photography.
If the leak proves accurate, Xiaomi will be making a substantial upgrade over the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which currently uses a 50MP main camera.
Periscope Telephoto Camera Also Gets 200MP Upgrade
Alongside the main sensor, Xiaomi is reportedly preparing a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The camera is expected to offer 3x optical zoom and an f/2.4 aperture while utilizing a 1/1.56-inch sensor.
Although the zoom level appears lower than the 5x optical zoom found on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, the new sensor could deliver better image detail and overall performance.
Improved Macro Photography Capabilities
The leaked telephoto camera is also expected to support macro photography. Reports indicate that users will be able to focus on subjects from approximately 15 centimeters away.
This would be a noticeable improvement compared to the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which reportedly allows telemacro focusing from around 30 centimeters.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro May Power the Device
Previous reports have claimed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. The new processor is expected to deliver flagship-level performance and enhanced AI capabilities.
The smartphone is also rumored to feature a large 6.9-inch flat LIPO OLED display, offering slim bezels and a premium viewing experience.
Rear Display and Other Upgrades Expected
