Xiaomi 17T Series Officially Announced, Launching on May 28

The wait is finally over as Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch date of its upcoming Xiaomi 17T series. The company has announced that the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro will debut on May 28, calling it the “biggest T Series upgrade yet.”

This confirmation puts an end to ongoing speculation, especially after multiple leaks revealing design renders and detailed specifications of the lineup.

Performance Powered by MediaTek Chipsets

Both models in the series are expected to feature chipsets from MediaTek. The standard Xiaomi 17T will reportedly use the Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor, while the 17T Pro is likely to be powered by the more advanced Dimensity 9500 flagship SoC.

These upgrades suggest a strong focus on performance improvements across the lineup.

Display and Design Differences

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to come with a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED display featuring FHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the standard 17T will likely sport a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Both devices aim to deliver smooth visuals, with the Pro model targeting a more premium viewing experience.

Camera Setup with Advanced Sensors

On the camera front, both phones are expected to feature a triple-camera setup led by a 50MP main sensor.

  • Xiaomi 17T: Rumored to use a Light Fusion 800 main sensor
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro: Expected to feature a Light Fusion 950 sensor

In addition, both devices are said to include a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide camera.

Battery and Charging Upgrades

Battery performance is another major highlight of the series.

  • Xiaomi 17T: Expected 6,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro: Larger 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging

These improvements indicate a strong push toward longer usage and faster recharge times.

Expected Pricing in Europe

The Xiaomi 17T series is also expected to launch with competitive pricing in Europe:

  • Xiaomi 17T (12GB + 256GB): Starting at €749 (~$878)
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro (12GB + 512GB): Starting at €999 (~$1,170)

With its upgraded hardware, larger batteries, and improved camera systems, the Xiaomi 17T series is shaping up to be one of the most significant releases in the mid-premium smartphone segment this year.
