Xiaomi has officially introduced its new 17T series this week, bringing both the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro to market. While both models arrive with a price increase of around €100 compared to last year’s 15T lineup, they compensate with notable hardware upgrades and improved camera and battery performance. To make the launch more appealing, Xiaomi is also offering limited-time tablet bundle deals.
Xiaomi 17T Gets a Major Camera and Battery Upgrade
The standard Xiaomi 17T now comes equipped with a significantly improved camera system, highlighted by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom (115mm). This advanced sensor supports up to 10x lossless zoom and even 30cm macro photography, a major leap from the previous generation’s 2x telephoto setup.
It is paired with a 50MP main sensor (1/1.55-inch), a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera for selfies. Overall, the imaging system is clearly designed to close the gap with higher-end devices.
On the display side, the 17T features a slightly more compact 6.59-inch 12-bit OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Despite the smaller size, battery capacity has been significantly increased thanks to silicon-carbon technology, now reaching 6,500mAh—about 1,000mAh more than its predecessor.
Charging options include 67W wired fast charging with HyperCharge, 50W via USB-PPS, and up to 22.5W reverse charging for powering other devices.
Xiaomi 17T Pro Brings Flagship-Level Power
The Xiaomi 17T Pro retains a larger 6.83-inch 12-bit OLED display but upgrades to a smoother 144Hz refresh rate. Battery capacity is even more impressive at 7,000mAh, offering a substantial 1,500mAh increase over the previous model.
Charging speeds are also top-tier, supporting 100W wired charging (HyperCharge and PPS) as well as 50W wireless charging, making it one of the fastest-charging phones in its category.
Camera hardware is similar to the 17T in terms of telephoto capability, featuring the same 50MP 5x periscope lens. However, the Pro model benefits from a larger 1/1.31-inch main sensor with improved pixel size for better low-light performance.
Under the hood, it runs on the more powerful Dimensity 9500 chipset, compared to the Dimensity 8500 used in the standard 17T, ensuring a noticeable performance boost in gaming and multitasking.
Price Increase and Early Deal Strategy
Both Xiaomi 17T models are priced approximately €100 higher than last year’s 15T series. Since the phones have just launched, no direct price discounts are available yet.
However, Xiaomi is compensating for the higher price with bundle offers designed to add extra value for early buyers.
Bundle Offers Include Free or Discounted Tablets
As part of the launch promotion, Xiaomi is bundling the 17T series with a choice of two tablets: the budget-friendly Redmi Pad 2 or the higher-end Xiaomi Pad 8.
The Redmi Pad 2 features a 9.7-inch 120Hz IPS LCD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset. It includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, expandable via microSD. A 7,600mAh battery with 18W charging supports all-day usage.
Normally priced around €200, the tablet is offered at a reduced €100 when purchased as part of the Xiaomi 17T bundle, making the deal more attractive for early adopters.
With improved cameras, larger batteries, faster charging, and strategic bundle offers, Xiaomi is clearly positioning the 17T series as a strong mid-to-premium contender in the competitive smartphone market.
