vivo X500 Pro Max Appears on Geekbench: 4.55GHz Chip and Android 17 Revealed

The vivo X500 Pro Max has appeared on Geekbench ahead of the X500 series launch, revealing a MediaTek MT6995 processor, 12GB of RAM and Android 17. The engineering device recorded 2,574 points in single-core testing and 7,756 in multi-core performance.

The new benchmark leak adds weight to reports that vivo is preparing a major flagship performance upgrade alongside an ambitious camera system. The X500 Pro Max is expected to combine the rumored Dimensity 9600 Pro platform with vivo and Sony’s custom Phantom 900 imaging technology, putting performance and video firmly at the center of the next-generation X series.

vivo X500 Pro Max Appears on Geekbench

The Geekbench listing identifies the smartphone as vivo V2610, strongly linking the test device to the upcoming X500 Pro Max. The result was uploaded on August 24, 2026, using Geekbench 6.7.1 for Android.

The listing reports a MediaTek MT6995 engineering processor with eight CPU cores. Its configuration is particularly interesting, with two cores running at 4.55GHz, three at 4.35GHz and another three at 3.10GHz.

Geekbench Performance

In the benchmark, the V2610 achieved 2,574 points in single-core performance and 7,756 points in multi-core performance. These are strong figures for an early engineering sample, although final retail performance could change after further software and thermal optimization.

The benchmark also shows approximately 11GB of available memory, corresponding to a 12GB RAM configuration, while the operating system is listed as Android 17.

Is This the Dimensity 9600 Pro?

The biggest question surrounding the MT6995 is its commercial name. Reports from Digital Chat Station and other Chinese tech sources point toward the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, although MediaTek has not officially confirmed that branding yet.

The leaked CPU configuration gives the rumor some credibility. The processor is reportedly built around a 2+3+3 arrangement, with the two performance cores reaching 4.55GHz. That makes the X500 Pro Max’s engineering sample particularly interesting for users who prioritize raw processing power.

An important caveat remains: this is an engineering device. Clock speeds, GPU configuration, thermal behavior and benchmark results can all change before commercial release.

A Major Camera Upgrade Is Also Coming

Performance is only one part of vivo’s X500 Pro Max strategy. The company is positioning the X500 generation as a major imaging upgrade, particularly for video recording.

The Pro models are expected to introduce a ZEISS Super Dynamic main camera built around a custom Sony and vivo sensor known as the BluePrint Phantom 900. vivo has highlighted a claimed dynamic range of up to 17EV.

3° Optical Image Stabilization

The X500 Pro Max is also confirmed to feature 3-degree optical image stabilization, a major talking point for the flagship camera system. The technology is designed to provide significantly wider physical stabilization movement than conventional smartphone OIS.

vivo is also promoting CIPA 7.0 professional-grade stabilization across the camera experience. The combination could make handheld video considerably smoother, especially when recording while walking or moving.

4K 240fps and 4K 120fps HDR

The camera system is expected to push video capabilities even further. vivo has announced support for 4K 240fps slow-motion recording and 4K 120fps HDR video, bringing specifications normally associated with dedicated imaging equipment into a smartphone.

That focus is significant because vivo is not simply increasing megapixel counts. The company appears to be targeting dynamic range, stabilization and high-frame-rate video as major differentiators for the X500 Pro lineup.

Phantom 900 Could Be the Real Story

The custom Sony Phantom 900 sensor may ultimately be more important than the Geekbench result. Reports indicate a 50MP sensor with a 1/1.28-inch format and technology designed around extremely high dynamic range.

If vivo can translate the claimed 17EV range into real-world video, the X500 Pro Max could have a major advantage when shooting difficult scenes with bright skies, deep shadows or strong backlighting.

The flagship is also rumored to use a 200MP HP0 periscope telephoto camera, reportedly related to the high-end telephoto hardware used in the vivo X300 Ultra. That remains a leak rather than a complete official specification.

X500 Series Launch Is Getting Closer

vivo has officially confirmed that the X500 series will launch in China in September 2026. The lineup is expected to include the X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max.

The company has not yet revealed the exact launch date or official pricing. International availability is also still unclear, so buyers outside China will need to wait for additional announcements.

What the Geekbench Leak Means

The benchmark suggests vivo is not treating the X500 Pro Max as a camera-first flagship with average performance. The rumored Dimensity 9600 Pro platform could make it a serious competitor in the flagship performance segment as well.

At the same time, the combination of a high-clocked MediaTek processor, Android 17, 12GB RAM and advanced Sony imaging hardware gives the phone a distinctly next-generation profile.

The most important detail, however, is that the Geekbench result comes from an engineering sample. Final retail scores should therefore be treated as the real test once vivo releases the finished phone.

The vivo X500 Pro Max is shaping up to be one of vivo’s most ambitious camera-focused flagships yet, but the Geekbench appearance shows that performance is getting equal attention. With a rumored Dimensity 9600 Pro, 12GB RAM, Android 17 and an advanced Sony imaging platform, the Pro Max is certainly worth watching ahead of its September debut.
