vivo X Fold6 Global Launch Could Be Close With Android 17 Confirmed

vivo appears to be getting closer to bringing its latest foldable beyond China. The vivo X Fold6 global version has now surfaced on Geekbench, revealing the model number V2559 and confirming that the international phone will retain the powerful Dimensity 9500 Super chipset.

The benchmark listing also reveals an important software difference. While the Chinese model launched with Android 16, the global version is expected to arrive with Android 17 and vivo’s upcoming OriginOS 7. That could make the international X Fold6 one of the more interesting premium foldables launching this year.

Global vivo X Fold6 Appears on Geekbench

The global X Fold6 has reportedly been spotted running Geekbench 7.0.0 for Android with model number V2559. The prototype recorded 1,710 points in single-core testing and 5,977 points in multi-core testing.

Those scores should not be treated as final retail performance. Prototype phones can run different firmware and may not have the same thermal tuning as production units. Still, the listing provides valuable confirmation about the hardware planned for the international market.

More importantly, the Geekbench entry confirms that vivo is not changing the core processor for the global release.

Dimensity 9500 Super Powers the Global Model

The international X Fold6 is listed with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super, the same flagship chipset used by the Chinese version.

This keeps the global model closely aligned with the Chinese variant in terms of processing hardware. The chip is paired with 12GB of RAM in the Geekbench prototype, although vivo could introduce additional memory configurations when the phone officially launches.

For a large foldable designed for demanding multitasking, gaming and productivity, the combination should give the X Fold6 plenty of performance headroom.

12GB RAM Confirmed in Prototype

The tested prototype carried 12GB of RAM. That does not necessarily mean it will be the only configuration available internationally.

vivo could offer different RAM and storage combinations depending on the market. The Chinese X Fold6 already comes with multiple storage options, so the global launch may follow a similar strategy.

Android 17 Could Be a Major Global Difference

One of the most interesting details is the software version. The Chinese X Fold6 launched with Android 16, but the global model is expected to ship with Android 17 out of the box.

That means international buyers could receive a newer Android version from day one rather than getting the same software build as the Chinese model.

The phone is also expected to run vivo’s OriginOS 7, which is based on Android 17. This upcoming software platform could bring a different user experience compared with the software available on the Chinese version.

Large 8.02-Inch Foldable Display

The X Fold6 is built around a large 8.02-inch LTPO AMOLED inner display with a 2312 × 2504 resolution.

The panel also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, giving the foldable a smoother experience when scrolling through apps, browsing the web and navigating the interface.

LTPO technology should also help the display dynamically adjust its refresh rate depending on what is happening on screen, potentially improving power efficiency without sacrificing smoothness.

6.51-Inch Cover Display

When the phone is folded, users get a 6.51-inch LTPO AMOLED cover display with a 1120 × 2528 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

That makes the outer screen large enough for everyday tasks without requiring users to constantly open the phone. Messaging, social media, browsing and other quick interactions can all be handled from the cover display.

200MP Main Camera Leads the Camera Setup

Photography is another major highlight of the X Fold6. The Chinese model features a 200MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS).

A high-resolution main sensor gives vivo plenty of room for detailed photographs and computational processing, while OIS should help reduce blur from hand movement in low-light situations.

The main camera is joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom.

50MP Ultrawide and Dual Selfie Cameras

The camera system also includes a 50MP ultrawide camera, giving users a wider perspective for landscapes, architecture and group photography.

For selfies and video calls, the foldable has a 20MP front-facing camera along with another 20MP cover selfie camera. The dual selfie setup makes sense for a foldable since users can use either display depending on how the phone is positioned.

7,000mAh Battery With Fast Charging

Despite its foldable design, the X Fold6 packs a substantial 7,000mAh battery.

That is one of the phone’s standout hardware features and should give it a strong endurance advantage, particularly considering the power demands of its large 8.02-inch display and flagship chipset.

Charging support is equally impressive, with 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. This gives users both a fast wired option and the convenience of wireless charging.

When Will the vivo X Fold6 Launch Globally?

vivo has not yet announced an official global launch date for the X Fold6. However, the appearance of a working global prototype on Geekbench is a strong indication that international testing is already underway.

The timing is particularly interesting because the phone has already been available in China since June. A global benchmark appearance suggests that vivo could be moving through the final stages of preparation before announcing availability in additional markets.

Pricing and exact market availability remain the biggest unanswered questions.

Global X Fold6 Could Be a Serious Foldable Rival

With the Dimensity 9500 Super, 200MP camera, 7,000mAh battery, 120Hz LTPO displays and Android 17, the global X Fold6 has a specification sheet aimed squarely at the premium foldable segment.

The combination of a large inner display and a usable 6.51-inch cover screen also makes it practical as an everyday smartphone rather than simply a showcase device.
