Samsung has officially clarified the release timeline for the upcoming One UI 9 beta program after confusion emerged from its earlier English-language announcement. The company has now shared additional rollout details through its Korean press release, confirming which countries will receive the beta first and which markets will follow later.
First Wave Markets Confirmed
According to Samsung, the first wave of the One UI 9 beta rollout will begin in South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Earlier reports also mentioned Poland and India, but Samsung has now confirmed that those two countries are part of the second rollout phase instead of the initial launch.
The company stated that users in Poland and India will gain access to the beta program starting May 26.
This clarification settles earlier confusion caused by missing rollout details in Samsung’s global announcement.
Eligible Devices for One UI 9 Beta
At launch, the One UI 9 beta program will only support the latest Galaxy S26 lineup. The currently supported devices include the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung also confirmed that more Galaxy smartphones will join the beta program later. However, the company has not yet revealed an official timeline for older flagship devices.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23 series, and Galaxy Z foldable phones are still receiving the stable One UI 8.5 update in various regions.
How Users Can Join the Beta Program
Users interested in testing One UI 9 will need a supported Galaxy device and access from one of the eligible regions. Registration for the beta will be handled through the Samsung Members app.
Once the beta becomes available in a region, users can sign up directly from the app and install the update over the air.
One UI 9 to Debut With New Galaxy Z Foldables
Samsung has also confirmed that One UI 9, based on Android 17, will officially debut alongside the company’s next-generation Galaxy Z foldable smartphones.
Although Samsung has not announced the launch date for the new foldables, industry expectations point toward a July unveiling. The company introduced its previous three Galaxy Z generations during the same period.
Android 17 Stable Release Expected Soon
Google is already testing Android 17 beta builds on supported Pixel devices ahead of the official release. The stable version of Android 17 is expected to be announced during Google I/O 2026, scheduled for May 19 and May 20.
Samsung’s One UI 9 rollout appears to align closely with Google’s Android 17 release schedule, suggesting a faster update cycle for Galaxy flagship devices this year.
