
Honor Magic8 Pro has officially become part of the Android 17 beta program. The flagship device is now eligible to receive the Android 17 Beta 3 update ahead of the stable rollout later this year.
Developers Can Now Test Android 17
Honor confirmed in a press release that developers can now download Android 17 Beta 3 on the Magic8 Pro. The beta update allows app makers to test compatibility, optimize performance, and explore upcoming Android features before the public release.
Android 17 Beta 3 Brings New Features
The latest beta version introduces several improvements across the system. Key additions include system-wide Bubbles support, RAW14 image format compatibility, enhanced UI customization, improved system controls, and a more advanced Dark theme.
The update also focuses heavily on privacy and security enhancements, giving users better protection and more control over their data.
Required Software Version for Installation
Honor stated that the Magic8 Pro must be running software version 10.0.0.162 (C636E4R105P2H2) or newer to install the Android 17 Beta 3 firmware.
Stable Android 17 Release Expected in September
Google initially released Android 17 Beta 3 in late March. Later, the company rolled out the first QPR1 beta update for supported devices.
The stable public version of Android 17 is currently expected to launch in September. Google is also likely to reveal more details during “The Android Show: I/O Edition,” scheduled for later today.
