HyperOS 4 May Arrive Even Without Android 17
Xiaomi has previously delivered newer HyperOS versions to some devices without upgrading them to the latest Android version. For example, certain devices received HyperOS 3 while continuing to run Android 15.
As a result, users whose devices do not qualify for Android 17 should not lose hope. Xiaomi may still release HyperOS 4 for selected models, although some advanced features could remain unavailable due to hardware or Android version limitations.
HyperOS 4 Release Timeline
Recent reports indicate that Xiaomi could officially unveil HyperOS 4 between July and August 2026. However, the wider rollout for older Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices is expected to begin around October 2026.
Since Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the final list, changes are still possible. More details are expected to emerge in the coming months as the company prepares for the next generation of software upgrades.
