Flagship Snapdragon Power Across Both Models

Performance is clearly one of the biggest selling points. Both phones use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, giving the F9 series genuine flagship-class processing hardware rather than a mid-range chip dressed up as a premium platform.

There is, however, an important distinction. The F9 Pro reportedly uses a V-series version of the chip, identified as SM8850-1-AB, with one GPU core removed. That means the Pro could deliver slightly lower graphics performance than the full configuration inside the Ultra.

12GB and 16GB Memory Options

The Poco F9 Pro is available in configurations reaching 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, while the F9 Ultra goes further with a 16GB RAM and 1TB storage option.

For most buyers, 12GB/512GB should already provide plenty of headroom for gaming, multitasking, large applications, and long-term use. The 16GB/1TB Ultra configuration is aimed more squarely at power users.

185Hz AMOLED Displays

Poco has pushed the display specifications unusually high. Both models feature AMOLED panels with a 185Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution, although the physical sizes differ considerably.

The F9 Pro uses a more compact 6.6-inch panel, while the F9 Ultra expands to a huge 6.9-inch display. Both are rated for up to 4,500 nits peak brightness, giving them the hardware credentials for strong outdoor visibility.

The 185Hz refresh rate should also appeal directly to gamers. Combined with the Snapdragon platform, it gives the F9 series a specification sheet built around fast response and smooth motion.

200MP Cameras Take Center Stage

Both smartphones share the same 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor. This gives the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra a common foundation for high-resolution photography, particularly in well-lit conditions.

The difference becomes much clearer when looking at the secondary cameras. The Pro gets a 50MP 2.5X telephoto alongside an 8MP ultrawide, while the Ultra upgrades both areas.

F9 Ultra Gets the More Serious Zoom Setup

The Poco F9 Ultra features a 50MP 5X periscope telephoto camera, making it considerably more capable for distant subjects. It also replaces the Pro’s 8MP ultrawide with a 50MP ultrawide camera.

That gives the Ultra a much more balanced camera system. The Pro still offers impressive headline hardware, but the Ultra is clearly designed for buyers who care about photography versatility.

Both models also feature 32MP selfie cameras positioned inside the display cutout.

Huge Silicon-Carbon Batteries

Battery capacity is another area where the two phones take different approaches. The F9 Pro packs a substantial 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the larger F9 Ultra pushes capacity all the way to 8,050mAh.

Both phones support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, so the Ultra’s much larger battery does not come with a slower charging system.

The silicon-carbon battery technology also allows Poco to increase capacity without making the phones proportionally thicker than traditional battery designs would require.

Bose Audio and a Rear Subwoofer

Poco has given the F9 family another unusual feature: speakers tuned by Bose. That makes audio part of the series’ premium positioning rather than an afterthought.

The F9 Ultra goes a step further by adding a rear subwoofer. If implemented effectively, the extra hardware should provide stronger low-frequency output and a more substantial sound profile when watching videos or playing games without headphones.

HyperOS 3 and Long-Term Software Support

Both smartphones ship with Android 16 and HyperOS 3. Poco is also promising four years of OS updates, which gives the phones a longer software lifespan than many previous Poco generations.

Other flagship-grade features include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water.

Poco F9 Pro vs F9 Ultra: Which One Makes More Sense?

The F9 Pro is the more interesting option for buyers who want flagship performance without moving all the way into Ultra pricing. Its 6.6-inch AMOLED display, 200MP camera, 6,330mAh battery, and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 make the $699 starting price aggressive.

The F9 Ultra justifies its higher price with a larger 6.9-inch display, full-performance Snapdragon configuration, 5X periscope camera, 50MP ultrawide, 8,050mAh battery, and rear subwoofer.

For gaming and everyday performance, the Pro could be the better value. For photography, battery endurance, media consumption, and maximum specifications, the Ultra is the obvious step up.

Price and Availability

The Poco F9 Pro starts at $699, which converts to approximately PKR 193,000, while the Poco F9 Ultra starts at $799, or around PKR 221,000 based on the supplied conversion.

Actual Pakistani pricing could differ because of taxes, PTA approval, import costs, and local retailer margins. That will be the key factor in determining how competitive these phones become in Pakistan.

The Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra mark a serious push into flagship territory, combining Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance with 185Hz AMOLED screens, 200MP cameras, fast charging, and unusually large silicon-carbon batteries. The bigger question now is whether their Pakistani prices can remain competitive enough to challenge established flagship rivals.
