Oppo has officially opened pre-orders for the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16F in Pakistan, bringing two new camera-focused smartphones to the local market. The two phones take different approaches to the mid-premium segment. The Reno 16 focuses on a more powerful Snapdragon platform, compact 1.5K AMOLED display and triple 50MP camera setup, while the Reno 16F pushes battery capacity to 7000mAh at a lower starting price.

Oppo Reno 16: The More Powerful Option

The Oppo Reno 16 is clearly positioned as the premium model of the two. Pakistan gets the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform. That combination should give the phone a strong balance between everyday performance, gaming and multitasking.

The phone also gets a compact 6.32-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. Its peak brightness reaches 3600 nits, while HDR10+ support gives compatible videos a wider dynamic range and more punchy visuals.

6700mAh Battery With 80W Charging

Battery capacity is one of the biggest upgrades for the Pakistan market. The Reno 16 packs a 6700mAh battery, backed by 80W wired SUPERVOOC charging. It also supports lower-rate charging standards such as PPS and PD, giving users more flexibility with compatible chargers.

Despite the large battery, Oppo has kept the Reno 16 relatively compact. The phone measures around 151.2 × 72.4mm and weighs as little as 182 grams depending on the finish, making the combination of battery capacity and portability particularly interesting.

Triple 50MP Camera Setup

The camera system is arguably the biggest reason to consider the Reno 16. Oppo has fitted three 50MP sensors on the rear, including a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP 3.5X telephoto camera with OIS.

That telephoto sensor gives the Reno 16 a significant advantage for portrait photography and distant subjects. A 50MP selfie camera sits inside the punch-hole display, keeping the front camera experience equally focused on high-resolution portraits and social-media content.

Premium Build and Protection

The Reno 16 also gets a more premium construction with an aluminum frame, alongside strong water and dust protection. Available specifications list IP68/IP69K protection, making the handset considerably more resistant to dust and water exposure than many conventional mid-range smartphones.

For connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and 5G. An optical fingerprint sensor is integrated beneath the display, while stereo speakers provide a more immersive audio setup for videos and gaming.

Oppo Reno 16F: Bigger Battery at a Lower Price

The Oppo Reno 16F takes a slightly different route. It costs Rs. 149,999 in Pakistan and comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The lower price comes with several hardware compromises, but the phone retains some of the Reno 16’s most attractive features.

Its 6.57-inch AMOLED display is actually larger than the Reno 16’s screen. It runs at 120Hz and uses a 1080 × 2372 resolution, while HBM brightness is rated at up to 1400 nits.

7000mAh Battery Is the Big Attraction

The Reno 16F goes even further on battery capacity with a huge 7000mAh cell. It also supports 80W wired charging according to current Pakistan specifications, giving the cheaper model an impressive endurance-focused hardware package.

This makes the Reno 16F particularly interesting for users who prioritize battery life over premium materials and maximum processing performance. Its larger chassis provides Oppo with more room to accommodate the bigger battery.

Dimensity 7300-Energy Performance

Under the hood, the Reno 16F uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset. It is a 4nm platform with a maximum clock speed of 2.5GHz, paired with 8GB RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The combination should be more than capable for social media, streaming, multitasking and everyday gaming. However, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 inside the Reno 16 gives the more expensive model a clear performance advantage.

Reno 16F Camera Setup

Oppo has kept the main and telephoto cameras at 50MP on the Reno 16F, including a 50MP main sensor with OIS and a 50MP 3.5X telephoto camera. The major downgrade is the ultrawide camera, which drops to 8MP.

A 50MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. The rear camera system supports 4K video recording, making the Reno 16F a relatively capable camera phone for its price category.

What Changes Between Reno 16 and Reno 16F?

The biggest differences are not difficult to spot. The Reno 16 has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, 12GB RAM, a higher-resolution 1.5K display, 3600-nit peak brightness, three 50MP rear cameras and a more premium metal-frame design.

The Reno 16F counters with a larger 6.57-inch display, a 7000mAh battery and a much lower Rs. 149,999 price. Its main compromises are the Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset, 8GB RAM, FHD+ screen, plastic frame and 8MP ultrawide camera.

Oppo Reno 16 Series: Which One Makes More Sense?

At Rs. 199,999, the Reno 16 is aimed at buyers who want a more complete flagship-like experience without moving into the ultra-premium price bracket. Its processor, display, telephoto camera and build give it a stronger overall package.

The Reno 16F makes more sense for buyers who want maximum battery life while keeping the price below Rs. 150,000. The 7000mAh battery and 3.5X telephoto camera are its standout features, although the cheaper phone sacrifices some display, performance and camera hardware.

The Oppo Reno 16 series arrives in Pakistan with a surprisingly strong focus on battery capacity and photography. With pre-orders now open and the first sale scheduled for September 5, the real question is whether Pakistani buyers will choose the Reno 16’s stronger hardware or the Reno 16F’s massive 7000mAh battery and lower price.
