Noble Mobile Acquires Helium Mobile, Keeps People-Powered Network Alive

Noble Mobile Takes Ownership of Helium Mobile

Noble Mobile has officially acquired Helium Mobile, bringing the innovative wireless carrier under new ownership. Despite the acquisition, Helium Mobile confirmed that its brand will continue to operate, ensuring a smooth experience for current subscribers.

Helium Mobile’s Unique Hybrid Network

Since its launch in 2023, Helium Mobile has stood out through its hybrid network approach. The carrier combined traditional coverage from T-Mobile with its own decentralized “people-powered” network powered by more than 100,000 user-operated mini cell towers across the United States.

Free Plans and Crypto Rewards Helped Build Attention

Helium Mobile attracted significant interest with its free Zero Plan, which launched last year before being discontinued recently. The company also gained recognition for offering cryptocurrency rewards, a feature that helped distinguish it from traditional mobile providers during the rise of blockchain-based services.

Noble Mobile Commits to the Helium Network

As part of the acquisition agreement, Noble Mobile has pledged to continue using the Helium Network. While the company has not revealed how long this commitment will remain in place, customers have been assured that there will be no disruption to their service during the transition.

Existing Customers Will See No Immediate Changes

Helium Mobile stated that subscribers can keep their current phone numbers and continue enjoying the same level of service. The company emphasized that coverage and network performance will remain unchanged as the ownership transfer moves forward.

Founders Shift Focus to Future Connectivity Projects

Following the acquisition, Helium Mobile’s founders will focus on building an intelligent connectivity platform. The new initiative aims to expand the technology behind the Helium Network, allowing carriers and connected services—including Noble Mobile—to leverage its decentralized wireless infrastructure.

Looking Ahead

The acquisition highlights growing interest in alternative wireless network models. By maintaining the Helium Network while investing in future connectivity solutions, Noble Mobile and Helium Mobile are positioning themselves for the next phase of innovation in the telecom industry.
