New iPhone Ultra Leak Reveals a Premium Price That May Surprise Even Apple Fans

Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone is back in the spotlight, and this time it’s the price making headlines. A fresh industry estimate suggests the iPhone Ultra could carry an average selling price of around $2,500, making it Apple’s most expensive smartphone ever if the leak proves accurate.

The reported figure represents the expected average price across the entire foldable lineup rather than the base model. Higher-storage versions could reportedly climb close to $3,000, while the foldable iPhone continues to attract attention for its premium design, flagship hardware, and iPad-inspired experience.

A Foldable iPhone Unlike Any Previous Apple Device

Apple has yet to officially announce its foldable smartphone, but multiple reports continue to paint a clearer picture. The device is widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra, although Apple has not confirmed the branding.

Unlike traditional iPhones, the rumored model is expected to feature a book-style folding design. When opened, it transforms into a compact tablet, placing it in direct competition with premium foldable devices from Samsung, Google, and Honor.

Why the $2,500 Price Matters

The reported $2,500 figure is an average selling price, not necessarily the entry-level retail price. That means some versions may cost less, while premium storage configurations could approach $3,000.

If accurate, the foldable iPhone would become Apple’s highest-priced smartphone ever. It would also position the device as an ultra-premium product aimed at enthusiasts and professionals rather than mainstream buyers.

Higher Storage Could Push the Price Even Further

Industry estimates suggest customers choosing larger storage capacities may pay significantly more.

Apple has traditionally offered multiple storage options across its Pro lineup, and analysts expect a similar strategy for its foldable model. Premium configurations are likely to command the highest prices.

Rumored Displays Focus on Productivity

Reports indicate Apple is developing a 5.5-inch outer display alongside a 7.8-inch foldable OLED inner screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

The larger internal display is expected to deliver an iPad-like experience for multitasking, reading, gaming, and productivity. Apple is also reportedly working to minimize the visible crease, one of the biggest challenges facing foldable smartphones.

Premium Build With a Nearly Invisible Hinge

Durability appears to be one of Apple’s biggest priorities.

Leaks suggest the foldable iPhone could use a liquid-metal hinge designed for improved strength and longevity. Meanwhile, its frame may combine titanium and aluminium, offering a balance between durability and weight.

The phone could measure just 4.5mm when unfolded and approximately 9mm to 9.5mm when folded, making it one of the thinnest foldable devices on the market.

A20 Chip Could Deliver Next-Generation Performance

Powering the device may be Apple’s upcoming A20 processor, reportedly built using an advanced 2nm manufacturing process.

The chipset is expected to be paired with 12GB of RAM, offering faster multitasking and improved AI capabilities. Reports also point to Apple’s next-generation C2 modem, bringing support for 5G mmWave connectivity.

Face ID May Give Way to Touch ID

One of the biggest surprises involves Apple’s biometric security.

Because of the foldable phone’s extremely thin design, reports claim Apple may remove Face ID from the device. Instead, Touch ID could return through a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, similar to recent iPad models.

Camera System Focuses on Practicality

Current leaks suggest the rear camera setup will include two 48MP sensors.

The primary camera would be joined by an ultrawide lens, while a dedicated telephoto camera may be omitted due to space limitations inside the foldable chassis.

The phone is also expected to include selfie cameras on both displays. One report even claims the internal screen could feature a 24MP under-display camera, creating a cleaner viewing experience.

Biggest Battery Ever in an iPhone?

Battery life could become another major selling point.

Industry reports estimate a battery capacity between 5,400mAh and 5,800mAh, potentially making it the largest battery Apple has ever placed inside an iPhone. Combined with the efficient 2nm A20 chip, users could see impressive endurance despite the larger displays.

iPad-Style Software Experience

Hardware is only part of the story.

Apple is reportedly optimizing iOS with split-screen multitasking, side-by-side apps, and other iPad-inspired productivity features. The foldable device is also expected to rely entirely on eSIM, eliminating the traditional physical SIM card slot.

Apple Hasn’t Confirmed Anything Yet

While the latest leak paints an exciting picture of Apple’s first foldable iPhone, none of the reported specifications or pricing have been officially confirmed.

The rumored $2,500 average selling price and possible $3,000 premium variants remain industry projections until Apple unveils the device. Still, if these reports prove accurate, the iPhone Ultra could redefine Apple’s premium smartphone strategy and set a new benchmark for foldable flagships.

Would you consider buying a foldable iPhone at around $2,500, or is that simply too expensive even for Apple’s most ambitious smartphone yet?
