Samsung is already working on the Galaxy S25 FE, and it’s expected to launch in late 2025. Early reports reveal that the phone carries the codename “R13” and the model number “SM-S731B.” While details have been scarce so far, GalaxyClub has now shared new insights about the device’s chipset and software.

As the most budget-friendly model in the S25 lineup, the Galaxy S25 FE will come with a few compromises to keep the cost down. While the standard Galaxy S25 series uses the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (also known as Snapdragon 8 Elite), the FE variant will likely have less impressive specs.
According to GalaxyClub, the S25 FE will likely feature the same Exynos 2400e chip found in the Galaxy S24 FE. That means there won’t be any major performance improvements this year. While the Exynos 2400e is still a high-end chip, it falls short of the Snapdragon 8 Elite used in other S25 models.
The Exynos 2400e is a 4nm deca-core processor with a 3.11GHz peak speed and an Xclipse 940 GPU. It offers solid performance, but it doesn’t match the speed and graphics capabilities of its Snapdragon counterpart. As a result, the S25 FE will likely be priced more competitively within Samsung’s lineup.
Due to production challenges with the newer Exynos 2500 chip, Samsung seems to be sticking with the 2400e for its Fan Edition models this year. The Galaxy Z Flip FE is also expected to come with the same chipset.
On the software side, the Galaxy S25 FE is rumored to launch with Android 16 and Samsung’s new One UI 8, based on the same platform debuting on the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. If this timeline holds, the S25 FE may arrive in September or October 2025.
While the software will be up-to-date, the decision to reuse the Exynos 2400e may be a key talking point. Still, we’ll be keeping a close watch for further updates on the Galaxy S25 FE. Stay tuned for more news as the release date approaches.
