Mobile Phone Imports Cross Rs. 455 Billion
Pakistan’s spending on imported mobile phones continued to rise during the current fiscal year. Official data showed that the country imported mobile phones worth Rs. 455.73 billion between July 2025 and April 2026.
The latest figures represent a sharp 30.29 percent increase compared to the same period last year, highlighting strong consumer demand for smartphones across the country.
Imports Were Lower Last Fiscal Year
During the corresponding period of FY2024-25, Pakistan’s mobile phone imports stood at Rs. 349.77 billion.
The significant difference in import value shows that the local market witnessed strong growth in mobile device purchases over the past year.
April 2026 Records Strong Monthly Growth
The data also revealed a noticeable increase in imports during April 2026 alone. Pakistan imported mobile phones worth Rs. 49.41 billion during the month.
In comparison, imports in March 2026 were recorded at Rs. 41.63 billion, showing steady month-on-month growth.
Yearly Increase Exceeds 40 Percent
On a yearly basis, mobile phone imports in April 2026 rose by 40.71 percent compared to April 2025.
Last year, the country imported mobile phones worth Rs. 35.12 billion during the same month. The latest growth reflects increasing demand for new smartphones and expanding mobile connectivity across Pakistan.
Rising Demand Drives Import Growth
Industry experts believe the increase in imports is linked to growing smartphone adoption, easier installment options, and the launch of new devices by major brands.
The expanding use of digital services, mobile banking, and high-speed internet is also encouraging consumers to upgrade their smartphones more frequently.
