
Oppo has officially introduced the new Oppo Reno 16 and Oppo Reno 16 Pro smartphones in China. The latest Reno lineup arrives with premium-level specifications, including flat OLED displays, advanced triple-camera systems, large-capacity batteries, and MediaTek’s newest Dimensity processors.
Premium OLED Displays With High Brightness
The standard Reno 16 features a 6.32-inch flat OLED display with a resolution of 2640×1216 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and delivers up to 3600 nits of peak brightness for improved outdoor visibility.
Meanwhile, the Reno 16 Pro offers a larger 6.78-inch OLED display with a sharper 2772×1272 resolution. Like the standard model, it also supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming performance.
Both smartphones support 10-bit color depth and high-frequency PWM dimming technology for a more comfortable viewing experience.
Oppo has launched the Reno 16 in Moonlit Night Black, Galaxy Purple, and Heart-Fluttering Stars colors. The Reno 16 Pro is available in Moonlit Night Black, Dreamy Blue, and Heart-Fluttering Stars variants.
MediaTek Dimensity Power and Android 16
The Oppo Reno 16 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 SUPER chipset paired with LPDDR5X or LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 16 Pro comes equipped with the more advanced MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor alongside LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
Both phones run ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. However, Oppo has not yet revealed software update plans for the Chinese variants.
Additional features include stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint scanners, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C connectivity, IR blasters, and dual SIM 5G support. The Reno 16 supports Wi-Fi 6, while the Pro model upgrades to Wi-Fi 7.
The two devices also carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for improved dust and water resistance.
Triple 200MP Camera Setup With Periscope Zoom
Both smartphones feature a flagship-style triple rear camera system led by a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 main sensor.
The setup also includes a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 periscope telephoto sensor with 3.5x optical zoom and optical image stabilization.
For selfies and video calls, Oppo has added a 50-megapixel front-facing camera with autofocus support on both models.
Large Batteries and Fast Charging
The Reno 16 packs a massive 6,700mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.
Meanwhile, the Reno 16 Pro increases the battery capacity to 7,000mAh and adds support for 50W wireless charging alongside 80W wired charging.
Pricing and Variants
The Oppo Reno 16 starts at around $513 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the top-end 16GB + 1TB version is priced at approximately $719.
The Oppo Reno 16 Pro starts at about $543 for the 12GB + 256GB model. The highest-end 16GB + 1TB variant costs roughly $704.
