Huawei has quietly expanded its nova lineup with the introduction of the nova 16z, a new variant that closely mirrors last year’s nova 15 but adds one major upgrade: BeiDou satellite messaging support.
Alongside the nova 16, 16 Pro, and 16 Ultra, the nova 16z stands out as a more familiar refresh rather than a full generational leap, combining existing hardware with improved emergency connectivity features.
Display and Design Remain Unchanged
The device features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1084 × 2412 pixels, supporting 10-bit color depth and protected by aluminosilicate glass. However, unlike higher-end models, this panel does not use LTPO technology, keeping it closer to the previous generation in terms of efficiency and refresh adaptability.
Cameras Carry Over from nova 15
On the camera side, Huawei has largely retained the same setup:
