Apple iPhone SE 4 Battery & Charging Rumors Show Noteworthy Upgrades

Though still early, leaks are already revealing intriguing details about the upcoming iPhone SE 4. According to a reliable report, Apple may launch this new mid-range iPhone in March 2025. Additionally, there are hints of a significant battery upgrade.

Reports suggest the iPhone SE 4 will come with a larger battery, as it might abandon the classic iPhone 8 design for a look closer to the iPhone 14. With a bigger form factor, Apple has more room for a larger battery.

The leaks indicate a 3,279 mAh battery, up from the 2,018 mAh in the SE 3—an increase of around 60%, adding approximately 1,261 mAh to the SE 4’s capacity, bringing it close to the iPhone 14’s battery size. Combined with a new and efficient processor, the SE 4 could potentially match the battery life of the iPhone 16 series.

There’s also speculation that Apple may equip the iPhone SE 4 with the A18 chip, delivering performance on par with flagship models. Additionally, the SE 4 might feature a USB-C port (with 20W wired charging) and 15W wireless charging. The delay of three years for the SE 4’s release could be attributed to Apple’s efforts to develop an in-house 5G modem.

Apple aims to move away from relying on Qualcomm for 5G modems. The iPhone SE 4 could be the first model to feature Apple’s in-house 5G modem, setting the stage for future iPhones to adopt this new technology.
