The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is set to be the grand finale of the brand-new Xiaomi 15 series. While the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro have already launched in China, the Ultra model is still awaiting its debut. Reports suggest the device will officially be unveiled at MWC 2025. Meanwhile, leaks have given us a glimpse of what to expect.

A New “Small Surge” Chip
A tipster on X, @That_Kartikey, shared insights about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. According to the leak, the phone will feature an auxiliary self-developed chip, potentially named “Small Surge.”
For those familiar with Xiaomi’s technology, the “Surge” label might ring a bell. Xiaomi has previously integrated such chips to enhance battery management, improving battery life and charging efficiency. While the exact functions of the “Small Surge” chip remain unclear, it might follow a similar path with some innovative twists.
Camera Innovations
The leaker didn’t reveal much else, but earlier reports provide additional details about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Its cameras are expected to include improved lens coatings and a new macro focus capability, likely offering a focus range of around 10 cm.
One of the standout features of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be its 200 MP periscope telephoto camera, built on a Samsung HP9 sensor. Additionally, it will include a second 50 MP telephoto camera with 3X zoom, possibly using a Sony IMX858 sensor.
