The Tecno Pop 9 is an ultra-affordable smartphone introduced following the success of the Tecno Spark Go 1. Currently available in Africa with a Unisoc T615 chipset, the Pop 9 has now launched in India with a chipset upgrade. It is expected to roll out to more regions soon.

One of the key highlights of the Pop 9 is its exceptional value at a low price point. It features a 6.67-inch IPS display with a 720 x 1612 resolution and an interactive punch-hole design housing an 8MP selfie camera. This large, dynamic screen enhances the overall user experience.
In some international markets, the Pop 9 comes with a 120Hz display, but the Indian variant uses a 90Hz panel. This change might be due to the lower power capabilities of the Helio G50 chipset used in this version. However, the phone retains consistent features across variants, such as its design and camera setup.
The phone’s camera design draws inspiration from the iPhone, featuring a squircle module with two diagonally arranged lenses. One houses a 13MP primary camera, while the other is decorative. While the internal hardware may not break new ground, its premium-looking design at this price is a rare find.
Powered by the Helio G50 SoC with a PowerVR GPU and a 2.2GHz clock speed, the Pop 9 replaces the older Helio G36. It comes with 3GB of RAM, expandable virtually by an additional 3GB, offering improved multitasking capabilities. The device also includes a 5000mAh battery, an IR blaster, and an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance.
Priced at just $80 (~PKR 22,000) for the 3/64GB variant, the Tecno Pop 9 delivers impressive features for its budget-friendly price tag.
