The long-rumored Galaxy S25 Slim is now officially confirmed and is set to launch in the second quarter of 2025. Unlike its counterparts—the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra—it follows a separate release timeline.

The Galaxy S25 Slim has appeared in GSMA’s IMEI database, with the model number SM-S937U, which is likely for the US variant. Meanwhile, the global version could carry the model number SM-S973, though this is yet to be confirmed.
While the IMEI database doesn’t reveal specific details, rumors suggest the S25 Slim will share the same hardware as the standard Galaxy S25 but housed in a slimmer design. This approach is reminiscent of the Z Fold SE, which adopted a similar formula after the launch of the standard Z Fold 6.
Samsung’s expertise in creating thinner devices adds credibility to these claims. For instance, the Z Fold Slim Edition measures just 4.9mm when unfolded, setting a high standard for future slim models. If the S25 Slim follows suit, it could become a benchmark for Samsung’s future flagship designs.
Speculation also suggests the Galaxy S25 Slim may serve as a prototype for the Galaxy S26 design, potentially influencing the series’ future direction. Additionally, it might replace the Fan Edition lineup, which failed to achieve the desired market impact.
With its slimmer profile and promising hardware, the Galaxy S25 Slim could redefine Samsung’s flagship strategy.
