As we get closer to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy A56, more details are coming into focus, even though it’s still months away. The rumor mill is already revealing some intriguing aspects, including new information about the phone’s camera setup.

Samsung seems likely to stick with the familiar camera configuration found in previous A5X models: a 50 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide, and a 5 MP macro. While they may update the sensor types, the core resolutions appear unchanged.
A significant change, however, is expected for the selfie camera. Samsung plans to swap the previous 32 MP front lens for a 12 MP sensor similar to those in the Galaxy S line. While this might seem like a downgrade at first glance, the 12 MP sensor in the S series consistently delivers higher-quality selfies, hinting at a possible improvement for the A series.
This upgrade could bring the A56’s selfie quality closer to that of Samsung’s flagship models. Additionally, more details have surfaced about this budget-friendly Galaxy phone. According to a recent Geekbench listing, the Galaxy A56 will run on the new Exynos 1580 chip.
The Exynos 1580 has generated excitement for its performance, potentially rivaling the Snapdragon 888. The A56 scored 1341 points for single-core and 3836 points for multi-core performance on Geekbench. Samsung is also expected to offer up to six years of OS support, with a projected price range of €450–€500.
