Infinix Note 50 Series to Feature DeepSeek R1 for AI Voice Assistance

Infinix is gearing up to launch the Note 50 series, and the company has already confirmed the official debut date in a recent teaser. However, specific details remain under wraps, with Infinix only emphasizing that AI will be the central focus of this year’s Note 50 devices. Here’s everything we know so far.

Infinix Note 50 Series to Feature DeepSeek R1 for AI Voice Assistance

The Infinix Note 50 lineup is set to be unveiled on March 3, as officially announced on social media. The teaser prominently features “Infinix AI” alongside a strikingly designed Note 50 handset. However, the teaser does not reveal any specifics about the AI model, its features, or functionality. But a recent leak has provided new insights.

According to a highly reliable source, Infinix AI will not rely on traditional GPT models for voice assistance. Instead, the company’s default Folax voice assistant will integrate DeepSeek R1, a powerful AI model that has recently gained immense popularity, breaking download records on both Google Play and the Apple Store.

DeepSeek R1 is a cutting-edge large language model (LLM) that debuted only a few months ago. It competes directly with OpenAI’s GPT-4o, making it a significant player in the AI landscape. If the reports are accurate, Infinix could become the first major Chinese smartphone brand to integrate DeepSeek R1 for voice assistance.

Historically, the Folax assistant in Infinix’s XOS UI has offered limited functionality. However, with the DeepSeek R1 integration, it has the potential to rival advanced assistants like Gemini and Bixby. Sources indicate that internal testing of the Folax-DeepSeek R1 combination has delivered promising results. With new 4G Infinix devices on the way, this AI upgrade could significantly enhance the user experience.

The new AI-powered Folax is a significant improvement over its predecessor. It processes searches and voice commands more efficiently and responds faster than previous versions. Backed by DeepSeek R1, it offers capabilities far beyond those of a basic voice assistant.

Users will still be able to activate the assistant via voice commands or the power button, ensuring a seamless experience. According to the leak, Infinix AI will officially debut on February 26, when the company is expected to announce its DeepSeek R1 integration for the Note 50 Pro and other models. With the launch date approaching, more details about Infinix AI’s features are expected to surface soon.
