Nokia G22 Revealed: A Look at the Upcoming Successor to the G21
HMD Global is gearing up to release the Nokia G22, and leaks have started appearing. The latest details come from a Geekbench listing, shedding light on the phone’s specifications. Here’s what we know so far.

Performance and Hardware
The Geekbench listing identifies the device as the Nokia G22, successor to the Nokia G21. However, the performance appears nearly identical to its predecessor. The phone is powered by an ARM Unisoc chipset, mounted on a Sunfire motherboard.
The chipset has a base frequency of 1.61 GHz, indicating entry-level performance. Geekbench scores show 308 points for single-core and 1094 points for multi-core performance, consistent with the Unisoc Tiger 606 chip found in the G21.
Upgraded RAM
One noticeable improvement in the G22 is the 4GB of RAM, a slight upgrade compared to its predecessor. However, whether this upgrade significantly impacts performance remains to be seen.
Software and Updates
The Nokia G22 will ship with Android 12 out of the box. Like most Nokia phones, it promises reliable after-sales support with regular security patches and at least one major Android update.
For users upgrading from the G21, the key advantage is software longevity. The G22 is expected to receive updates up to Android 14, while the G21 will likely stop at Android 13. However, HMD Global’s two-year software update promise leaves room for potential changes.
