Xiaomi 15 & 15 Pro Debut; Snapdragon 8 Elite, Triple 50MP Lenses, 50W Wireless Charging, and More

After a long wait, Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, marking the best flagship releases this month. Both models feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, touted as the fastest processor for Android smartphones to date. Here’s everything you need to know about Xiaomi’s 15 Series.

Xiaomi 15 & 15 Pro Debut; Snapdragon 8 Elite, Triple 50MP Lenses, 50W Wireless Charging, and More

The Snapdragon 8 Elite is the star of the show, offering a 45% boost in performance and a 44% increase in efficiency over the previous 8 Gen 3 model. The new Oryon cores deliver a 40% improvement in GPU speed and energy savings, reaching speeds up to 4.32GHz—surpassing even the iPhone 16 Pro’s A18 Pro chip at 4.05GHz. This chip powers the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s major upgrade, along with its 6.73-inch semi-curved OLED display with a 2K (1440p) resolution.

The display is a TCL-made CSOT M9, offering 24% higher brightness than the 14 Pro’s screen, maxing out at 3200 nits with a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate. It also features a 300Hz touch sampling rate and Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0 for extra durability.

On the camera front, the Xiaomi 15 Pro features a Leica-optimized triple-lens setup on the rear, with three 50MP sensors: a 50MP OIS main camera, a 50MP macro telephoto, and a 50MP ultrawide. The main camera uses Sony’s LYT-900 sensor, capable of shooting 8K video at 24 or 30 fps, while the 32MP front camera supports 4K video at 60 fps.

A 6100mAh battery powers the Xiaomi 15 Pro, with 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Additional features include satellite connectivity, WiFi 7, IP68 water resistance, an IR blaster, and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. The Xiaomi 15 Pro starts at approximately $742 (~PKR 205,000) for the 12/256 GB model.

The standard Xiaomi 15 is a more compact 6.36-inch phone, offering a 1.5K OLED display with a 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate and 3200 nits peak brightness. Its bezels are extremely slim at just 1.38mm.

Powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and running Hyper OS 2, the Xiaomi 15 provides top-notch performance. It has a similar triple-50MP camera setup as the 15 Pro, but the 50MP telephoto lens is standard rather than periscope.

With a slightly smaller 5400mAh battery, the Xiaomi 15 still supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. While it lacks satellite connectivity, it includes features like an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, WiFi 7, and an IP68 rating. The Xiaomi 15 starts at around $630 (~PKR 175,000) for the 12/256 GB model.
